I promised myself I would stop taking pictures at Taka. Except when I'm there by myself, the staff asks if I'm going to take a picture to send Josh. And then Taka will serve me something super amazing that just requires pictures. I'm a slave to my food. What can I say?
I like to go to Taka on Tuesdays. Less crowded plus that's the day of the first delivery of the week. Taka had said the week before he was ordering the farmed bluefin from Japan (tenku maguro, I think) so I already knew it was coming.
I barely even need to order the negitoro don anymore. I think it would just show up if I said nothing. But I did, of course. :)
It was so good.
For my sashimi omakase, beautifully tailored for me. It was delicious.
For a change up at the end, I asked Taka for any handroll he wanted to make me. I got this amazing toro uni handroll with mountain yam. How could I not take a picture?
When I left, I mentioned perhaps I would return with Josh later in the week. It did take some cajoling but...
Yep, we came back on Thursday. The sashimi plate looks great. Lots of uni. Lots of great flavors.
This is the toro. It was simply amazing.
I opted for a handroll again. I could not let this go without taking a picture. Look at how beautifully stuffed it is. Simply amazing.
And after this, I don't need an uni nigiri!
Yum.
