Lunch at Gu's Bistro

Gu's Bistro was closed for three weeks while the owners went on vacation. That sounds very healthy for them.

Josh's only request was the Sichuan cold noodles. They look pretty tasty in a pile there. These are some good tasty noodles.

Josh said the rest of the lunch was my choice. I opted for the bok choy with mushrooms in a white sauce. The sauce was surprisingly rich and delicious. It went well with everything else we had.

Then I also got the mapo tofu. Apparently they make it with beef! It was delicious. I love the large chunks of tofu and the meatiness of it. I love this dish.

I also ordered this Sichuan-style lobster. It was like a slightly spicy salt n pepper Cantonese style lobster. Delicious.

They don't serve it a lot, so it was really hard to get through the awkwardly-sized pieces. And the lobster was a little bit old. But it was still delicious.

I am tempted to order the crab next time -- same style but crab -- but I worry they don't serve a lot of those either. Maybe we should go to a Cantonese place instead.
