Lobster Bar

We headed over to Lobster Bar for dinner. It was pretty full, so we sat at the bar.

We started off with the shellfish tower, though it doesn't look so tall, does it. Two coldwater oysters, one each from east and west coast. The east was a bluepoint but I can't remember what the west coast was -- something I had never heard of before. One littleneck clam which was quite tasty. The shrimp were really good and the dipping sauce was too. Yum.

Only the lobster was lackluster. Beyond being the smallest lobster ever, they steam them then wash them out (sad!) and then refrigerate them. Then they fill the formerly tomalley-filled shell with slaw. Meh. I kind of want good lobster now.

I got the iceberg wedge with a triple cream blue cheese. Quite tasty, the blue cheese, but overall, kind of meh also.

We shared a bone-in ribeye, ordered medium rare. I would say it showed up more medium, but it was delicious. Really delicious.

I loved creamed spinach. But this was a bit too fine, and I didn't care for the nutmeg. Not bad though.

The mushrooms were good. A collection of buttons, shitakes, and oysters. It could have been a mixture that I made myself.

Pretty tasty. I definitely want to go back and will be more careful with some of the ordering. More raw things!
