When Josh has a work dinner or is traveling, I usually make Taka one of my first stops. I'm not sure if Taka thinks I actually go see him based on his toro emails or if he understands that I always go see him based on Josh's schedule, but he probably does.
So it happened that I planned to go to Taka anyway, but then he sent out an email about having great tenku toro. Now I have mentioned before that I never knew how much I loved toro until I started having it more regularly.
I did a negitorodon and then sashimi. Taka mentioned he was low on uni, but he also told me that he had saved some just for me! SCORE!
So when I said I would finish with a handroll again, he handed the tray of uni to his sous and I got another luscious toro and uni handroll. I don't think you can appreciate how much uni was in it until you see the picture. Amazing.
