Toro and uni at Taka

So by now, it must be plainly obvious that Taka is my favorite restaurant, if only based on the fact that if I don't go on a regular basis, I get grouchy. And it's so delicious that it's just hard to not take pictures and post them.

It just so happened that we had decided to go to Taka and he luckily got in some great toro. It's funny to think that I used to think I wasn't such a big tuna fan, but good toro... it's the things that dreams are made of.

This is my normal negitoro don made special with some uni. Yum.

A delicious sashimi platter! Taka even took a picture of this one and posted it on his facebook page, calling it the "Veronica special. Lots of uni and toro makes her happy." It really does. Josh is lucky that we like the same things since our sashimi is totally tailored towards me.

We've had a cool spring, which is pretty delectable. It has meant interesting things for my vegetable plants, and also means that now that it's June (even though these pictures were from May 5) that we are pushing the limits of no a/c and just having the windows open. It won't last much longer.

Anyway, the cool spring also meant that Taka hadn't put cold ramen on his menu yet. But I asked for it, and got it, and he sadi it reminded him to put it on the menu! Hooray!

Every good meal should end with uni and quail egg. The saddest days are when he runs out of uni before I get it.
