Dinner at home

This is the kind of shot that Josh takes of the dinner table. He uses Instagram, and it looks way better than when I just use the default phone camera but... although i've downloaded Instagram, I haven't created an account yet.

Josh had said that the last of the Star Provisions pork racks wasn't findable in the freezer, but I managed to locate it. It was an oddly cut two-bone, but Star Provisions is still quality.

I seared it off in the skillet and then roasted it as usual. It took SO much less time than I expected. The meat was only in the oven for like five minutes until it was time to pull it out.

I took some of the Burge hakurei turnips and parboiled them, then tossed them into the oven when it was hot. It's been so long since we've had turnips; they are so great. I think you can keep turnips for a long time; we should stock up.

I also sauteed the Mandalar (?) spinach that we got from Heirloom Gardens. It was good too. I hope the spinach in our fall garden does well.

The eggplants are from our own garden (!). I just sauteed them with water and a little oil so they would get soft. They were pretty good.

Lastly, I cooked the older pole beans in the fridge from McMullan.

Josh wanted some Calabrian chiles so I took some out and cut it up. It went well with the pork. Spicy!
