Dinner at home
It was Thursday. We had been going out to eat a lot. Josh was out and about at lunch and picked up some sockeye salmon for dinner. We have a lot of herbs so it seemed a shame not to use them more regularly. Plus, not using them stunts their growth!
So with that in mind, I harvested chives and dill. Using some sour cream and a bit of lemon juice, I added in the herbs for a sauce. Then I sprinkled the remainder on the salmon. The sauce was also good on the potatoes.
I sauteed up some okra. We've been buying a lot and cycling a lot through it so I've been trying to keep track of which we bought when. It's a challenge. We had some pole beans too which I sauteed off with garlic. And then I reheated the potatoes I had made when Mike and Nancy came over.
The salmon itself was sauteed in a pan and covered. It was good but a tad overcooked. Damn!
I may have told you that my ripening cherry tomatoes were stolen off the vine. It was only two of them, and they were closest to the pot. This one ripening plum tomato is nearly ripe now and higher up. I hope I get to harvest it.
All the tomatoes were planted in July/August so it will be late for fruit bearing.
