Another Saturday morning, another market.
I've gotten back into the groove of pre-ordering, and it's quite divine.
I pre-ordered six pounds each of McMullan cucumbers to be turned into dills (shorter Divas) and bread and butters (longer Suyo Longs). The dills will be a little funnily shaped, but I hope it will all work out.
From McMullan, we also bought a bag of arugula, some sweet peppers, and a few extra cucumbers for salads and drinks.
From Riverview, we also bought some bi-color corn, which they said was the sweetest best ever, and some garlic, which I need for my pickles.
We bought more little cherry tomatoes from McMullan. We now have too many tomatoes. Indian Ridge had a lot of zucchini flowers, which were not going very fast. It seemed that lots of people had no idea what to do with them. We bought eight.
From Burge, we also bought okra -- I bought all the little ones i could find -- and a couple big tomatoes.
I needed onions for my pickles so I bought two pounds from Burge. I didn't need them all because I found the last batch to be too onion heavy, so I cut back. Now I'll grill them.
We stocked up from Pine Street. It's hard to get over there now. One package each of country sausage and Mexican chorizo, which I'll portion out for use later this year. Rusty defrosted it for me, so it would be easier to portion.
We also got mild Italian sausage, both loose and links. Yum.
From Heritage Farm, we bought them out of chicken wings to stock up. Seven packages.
It was a heavy bag day.
