I know that I post a lot about the same places but it's so exciting to have really spectacular food that I always want to post about it. And we like to go to the same places because they are good and we like them.
So when Taka posted about a particularly awesome tuna, how could we not take the opportunity to go?
Now, it's not like tuna is the only thing we get when we go to Taka, but certainly, it's a good excuse.
To start, this negi-toro don. I think I have it every time Taka has great toro. He was seriously generous with the toro this time, and it was heavenly to eat. I swear I thought about ordering a second one.
The pickled wasabi (the negi part of the negidon) is often a bit aggressive for me, but it always goes so well.
Next up, a sashimi omakase, with some extra tuna. There's tuna on here -- in the middle -- and damn it was good. And then three different types of toro.
Plus, a fish we had never had before; I think it was white fin. And some black throat, that's it there in the foreground to the ridge of the toro with the pickled wasabi on it.
And up there around 10 o'clock, that's live giant clam which was amazingly yum. I love giant clam.
Next, shoyu ramen, which they split for us, yums!
And to finish, a whole pile of uni with quail egg. So good.
