Peter's of Dunwoody
It was a weeknight. Josh was traveling so I was alone for dinner. I headed out to the Dunwoody Village and got a table at C'om Dunwoody. The restaurant was nearly empty, though there were three tables outside. There seemed to be plenty of servers, but I didn't know what they were doing. I had been to C'om for several three-hour team lunches before so I was familiar with their extremely slow service.
After sitting there without any water or service for ten minutes, I walked out.
I headed to a restaurant nearby called Peter's of Dunwoody. Reviews said that it was "the best Italian food in Dunwoody". Well, I'm not sure how hard it is to accomplish that... But I headed over with high hopes.
It was a cool night and beautiful. I took a seat out on the patio in a remote corner. At the junction, there was a table with a very loud storyteller. He grated on my nerves a bit all night, but I did find out later that he was the owner.
I was happy to find that my service was good. Attentive but not annoying.
I started off with the crab salad which I got as a half portion. It was pretty good and had a generous amount of crab.
For my main, I got a half order of the frutte di mare (blame any misspelling on my memory). My server said she likes it with the white sauce, so that is how I got it. It was surprisingly delicious! There was a very generous selection of seafood and I found that only the shrimp seemed slightly overcooked. I would have liked more pasta, but I sopped up all the juices with the bread.
I always like to look at the dessert menu though usually nothing calls to me. But they had ricotta cheesecake, made in-house. It was hard to refuse. And it was so moist and delicious! Definitely worth it.
So that was a very good dinner. And $35 including a glass of wine.
