Lamb is absolutely one of my favorite meats. And duck. And pork. And beef. Well, I like a lot of meat. I think that lamb is one of those undervalued meats that most people don't really like. But I, for the most part, could probably eat lamb every day.
We're trying to locally source our meat, so we ordered lamb from two local farms this year. A 1/4 lamb from Heritage Farm and a 1/2 lamb (going in on a whole with L+H) from Many Fold Farms.
For $160, we got the following from Many Fold:
- 2.6 lb shoulder chops (maybe 12 of them?)
- 2 lamb shanks
- 1.55 lb stew meat
- 2 of the tiniest legs of lamb I have ever seen where the two pieces we have total 3.68 lb
- 1.5 lb shoulder roast
- 4 leg steaks totallying 1.95 lb
I have to say that I feel pretty gypped. I'm still working it out in my head. I expect better things from Heritage Farms.
