Fried flounder

It's probably no surprise that some of my strongest food memories are Chinese. One of them is a fried whole fish which also came with a soy-mixed sauce. It's hard to really place the memory or the taste. But I know that it's been forever since I've had it.

I did a new freezer inventory a couple weeks ago. A complete inventory of what was where along with some cleaning. Last summer, we got some whole flounder from Sweet Savannah Shrimp company and I knew that I needed to eat them. So I picked a day that Josh was travelling and tried to replicate my fuzzy food memory.

I defrosted the whole fish and then dredged it lightly in flour. Then I fried it in the wok.

I mixed up a soy, black vinegar, sesame oil, ginger sauce. It was okay. A little overcooked and not very flavorful. So sad.
