Saturday morning market
You can tell the seasons are changing based on what's at the farmer's market.
Still with the taste of roasted turnips in my head, I bought two bunches of turnips at Burge along with the small pile of okra. I also picked up two containers of habaneros to make hot sauce.
From Mcmullan, we picked up flat and green beans (a lot of the latter), some baby zucchini, and lovely plum tomatoes.
This big lettuce head is also from McMullan.
Michael at Indian Ridge still had a good selection of mushrooms even though we got there so late (after 9.30). We got some chanterelles, most of the hedgehogs, and some black trumpet mushrooms, which Michael said are very earthy and probably good with meat or cooked and put into a salad.
