We plan to return to more cooking at home, so we were generous in our vegetable buying at Peachtree Road this weekend. Perhaps we will start to make a dent on the freezer meat after all!
We have sweet potato greens from Farmer Greg up there in the top left. I really like Farmer Greg, but don't really buy from his stand that often. Clockwise from that are cherry pepper tomatoes that I'm going to pickle, some eggplants, and heirloom okra from Farmer Jeff. Then Indian Ridge beans and eggplants from Burge. We really spread out our buying this weekend. I felt good supporting so many different farmers.
Starting from top left again, we bought two bags of pink lady peas from Riverview, which I'll freeze some for winter eating. Clockwise from there are some gorgeous pink oyster mushrooms from Flat Creek Lodge, a bag of arugula from Stoke Farms. Then we have some of the biggest, healthiest, meatiest shitakes and haricot verts from Hennessey Farms that I've ever seen. This is the first time we've ever bought from Hennessey but their stuff looks really good. Lastly are some muscadines from Green Ola.Looking forward to eating these goodies this week!
