Well, we took another trip to Bocado. I know, I think we were there last week. Actually, I thought it was the week before, but time is running together. I don't know the bartender well and didn't feel like ordering off the menu, so I asked for a manhattan with Woodford Reserve. Not quite as smooth as the one I had last week, but then again, by the time I had last week's manhattan, I was already three cocktails in so probably anything would have been smooth.
You gotta start with the deviled eggs. I thought last time that the prosciutto was crunchy, but it wasn't. These deviled eggs are really tasty. Smooth and eggy. I really like these. Last time, Josh let me have the last one. This time, we split it. I guess if I were equal opportunity, I would have just let him have it. Our server commented that maybe next time we could ask for one extra so it was even. Maybe we will.
I originally planned to get the chicken liver goodness because I love chicken liver. But with an heirloom tomato salad on the menu so late in the summer well... you just have to get it. And when I saw it has the green goddess dressing... well, I loved Chef Todd's dish at the tomato fest. So here came this luscious heirloom tomato salad with avocado, cucumber, watermelon radishes, and green goddess dressing. We split it and it was SO GOOD.
I thought about getting the flounder but the draw of the burger is hard to ignore. Maybe I will order something else next time. We got it, naturally, with herb fries and a side of ranch. I overheard the next table talking about if they should get the burger and I told them I thought it was the best in Atlanta. They seemed skeptical, but one at the table ordered it. I never did find out if what they thought. This time, I finished all of my fries. Yum.For dessert, Josh had a slice of chocolate, caramel, sea salt cake and a cup of coffee. I had a glass of milk. I was too full for cake. I was barely able to finish my milk actually.
