Dinner at STG Trattoria

Friday night. We headed over to STG on the early side and sat at the high tables. They've gotten rid of the raised metal thing where they used to serve the pizzas, which I think is a good move.

To start, I got the quail, which came with a saute of spinach and salsify. I just could not get this photo in focus, even though I tried a few times.

As you can see, the quail came out beautifully. It was moist and delicious. The only drawback was that the quail appeared to not have been seasoned. I meekishly asked for the salt, and then salted it. It was delicious.

Josh ordered this salad which has a creamy herb vinaigrette. It was a good, in the style of a light ranch, but I have to say that I prefer the buttermilk ranch at Bocado more, since they seemed so similar.

For our next course, we split the pasta: garganelli with braised duck with chiles and artichokes. Oh, it was delicious. And it tasted vaguely familiar really. It was great.

Then we split a margherita pizza with Calabrian chiles on the side. Charred deliciously and good.

For dessert, a selection of panna cottas. From left to right, with a blueberry topping, a coffee panna cotta with a salted caramel topping, and a fennel marmaladey one. I liked the blueberry the best.

A great dinner. We don't come here enough.
