Market Day

Today we were a bit late to leave the house, having a tired morning and also having some leftover turkey fig, blue cheese, and prosciutto pizza from Floataway so there as not as much as usual, plus we'll have few meals at home this week so we weren't looking for much. But Eric, Katy, and Ona met us there so we walked around with them and had a very nice time, indeed. We also ran into Gena; it was nice to see her.

Here we have some pretty looking Indian Ridge tomatoes and pole-bean-looking beans. We just missed out on chanterelles by minutes. Heirloom okra is from Farmer Jeff. The Chinese eggplant and crookneck cucumber are from urge. And the two bags of crowder peas are from Riverview. We also got an H&F fried pie (the last one!) and a baguette. I may not have mentioned that we went to Floataway the other day and the chicken liver app now also has chicken liver. I asked if I could buy a jar to take home and Drew gifted me a small delicious jar. I am excited to have it as a snack soon.

Kelly has taken over the bar at Floataway. We stopped at Toco Giant on the way home for some St. Germain, bitters, and Bellringer Gin so that Josh could duplicate the elderflower martini we had. Tasty.

We stopped by Whole Foods to buy some lettuce. We picked up some good-looking heirloom tomatoes. I'll probably move the aerogarden (and a second) to be lettuces and tomatoes in the fall/winter. That should be pretty nice.
