Another Saturday, another market day.

Well, Josh was out of town Saturday so I headed down to Peachtree Road by myself. It's always lonely going to the market by myself, but at least I remembered to bring my returnables (returning containers to the farmers so they can be reused) and my bags for carrying things.

So here we have another one of those weird squashes and also chanterelles from Indian Ridge, naturally. I also got some beans that look a lot like pole beans to me but I have no idea what they are called. They are also from Indian Ridge. Then we have an Asian melon and pears from Farmer Greg and some padrons from Farmer Jeff. I also bought some unpictured H&F fried pies.

Michael at Indian Ridge said that chanterelles should be stored in a fully closed plastic bag so I am trying that out. Hopefully they will be in good condition.

Since I was alone, I also pickled about four quarts of bread n butter pickles (5 lb cucumbers, 2 lb onions) and about four quarts of hot okra. Needless to say, the fridge is full. And I was tired.
