... That smell in the fridge

I don't know about your fridge, but sometimes my fridge gets ... the funk. Not the good 70s funk either, but the maybe-you-left-something-in-there-since-the-seventies kind of funk. That's when it's time to throw away everything you know was there before the Christmas and that you haven't touched since then.

Our fridge recently had the funk. I couldn't figure it out. I put in those handy Arm & Hammer baking soda fridge boxes and some odd recyclable odor remover thing and still, the funk remained. I cleaned out everything in the cheese drawer and all of the top "rotting" drawer and still the smell remained. I wiped out all the shelves, top and bottom, and still, the smell remained.

Just one thing remained to be cleaned over the holiday -- remove all the drawers and clean the back and bottom of the fridge. But before I did that, I cleaned out from what we purchased before Thanksgiving. And I found the source of the funk: a deliberately funky French Camembert. Possibly overripe and super stinky... the fridge now smells like its old clean self again.

And I have learned that I don't really like stinky cheese.
