A facelift and a new year

If you read my blog through a feed, you haven't noticed any changes, but if you come to the blog itself, you'll noticed some things are different.

First off, I learned that Blogger finally supports pages, so I've added in a few that I had parked on Facebook, since I didn't have another outlet. They include a list of all my cookbooks, my favorite cooking supplies, and a "what I ate" page, a log of things that I have eaten, though really only from 2009-10. I moved it here with the theory that I will start updating it again.

I also gave the blog a new layout and design. I was stuck in 2008 when Blogger didn't allow flexible widths so I updated to a new template that allows me to easily move things around. It still doesn't let me easily adjust margins as I'd like (without having to dig into how they coded it and write my own css to override), so I've stuck with basically what they have.

It's usually around this time that I talk about my food goals for the new year. I have to admit that I don't have many right now. I'm in a cooking lull which means that I can hardly bring myself to move off the couch (and out from under Max) to get up to cook despite the nearly endless time that I have to be stocking the freezer right now.

I do know that I'd like to work on making pizza, whether out on the Egg or in the oven. I need to clean out all the kitchen gear that I don't use and donate it and open up all that shiny new all-clad gear hanging out in boxes. I'd like to continue using a lot of fresh herbs. We'll see what else comes up during the year.
