Charcuterie

Earlier this week, I spent a couple days reading through Charcuterie. Despite my excitement in getting this library book to read, I had serious concerns that this book would be way over my head, a book that was mainly for food porn lovers to sit on their coffee tables.

Wow, what a book! It starts off really getting into your head that the book is for the home cook and isn't snooty at all. Instead, it's highly enjoyable and totally home cook food porn. Each recipe seems more exciting than the last.

The first recipe in the book is for bacon. I read it over and said, "hey, I can do that." The next was for pancetta. "Wow, I can do that too." And so on. And then I got to home-brined corned beef and sauerkraut. And that was when I put the book down and just said, "Okay, have to buy that book now. Move it to the top of the to-purchase list."

I read this as:
"food porn"
followed by
"'Hey I can do that!'"
