Blue Point oysters from Long Island are my favorite oyster. Tonight, I had Blue Points from McCormick and Schmick. And what did I learn?
A Blue Point oyster is not a Blue Point oyster if it's from Prince Edward Island, Canada and not Long Island, NY. It's too briny.
Also, the oyster shucker at McCormick and Schmick's rather sucks ass. I expect my oyster to be fully disconnected from its shell. And no shell in my oyster! I mean, at $2 a pop, is that too much to ask?
Saturday, I had oysters (likely Apalachicola) at Steamhouse Lounge. (With a tasty tasty bowl of their house special, lobster bisque.) However, they didn't quite hit the spot. I don't know what was wrong but something was. I only had one dozen instead of my normal two. Hence the oysters today. But still... unsatisfied. I will have to make oyster stew over the holiday.
