Well, Madras Chettinaad was closed due to "technical difficulties" which was depressing so we headed out to Chef Liu, which is apparently closed on Tuesdays. Forlorn, we went to Han Il Kwan for lunch. J got the bibimbap and I got a bugogi box. Pretty tasty.
At Atlanta Fixture, we picked up:
- a nice Lincoln Wear-Ever 12" non-stick skillet that I plan to use for things that need a good sear and a deglazing for a sauce. I'll still sear and cook steaks in the cast iron. I like that it has a plastic handle that will stand up to 600 degrees in the oven.
- a 15x20 two-inch thick butcher-block wooden cutting board. Now, I know I just said yesterday that a $45 cutting board was too much for a flimsy 1" thick rubber board, but the heft and size of this wooden board definitely seems worth it. It'll be a good workout to lift and clean this thing anyway.
