J is still out of town, so I headed over Viet Tofu on Buford Highway for a tasty vietnamese sammich. I got a nice combo with jalapenos. The good thing about being a wuss to not be able to eat jalapenos is that your sammich is always made fresh.
I guess it is a little scary to eat a sandwich that has three different kinds of meat for under $3. But it's really very good and the lightly vinegared veggies are tasty also. While it's a weird theory, I find that if we only eat organic meats at home, we tend to get sick when we go out to restaurants or over to friends' houses for dinner.
You're right; who am I kidding? We haven't gone over to a friend's house for dinner in like three years. And yes, we were fearful of that barbequed tri-tip at that baby's birthday party when we heard it was from Costco. But that was like four years ago!
In addition to my vietnamese sammich, I stopped at Hoa Binh and picked up some char siu, some of which I'll eat tonight and some that I'll put in fried rice, and siu ngap, roast duck. I like to tell myself that I'll make a bowl of noodles to go with my meat, but if I'm feeling extremely lazy, I'll probably just eat the meat. I really hate eating downstairs alone when J is not home.
Off-topic, I've decided to try to add labels to my posts. A recent discussion at work quoted that normal blogs have up to twenty labels. I have zero, but I have noticed that maybe they are a good idea. So perhaps some labels will suddenly appear and then rearrange themselves on a regular basis just to see if you are paying attention.
